I think there are three things that a young person needs to understand the importance of, when preparing for a successful life: confidence, doing things to the best of their ability and hard work.

The harder you work, the sooner you’ll get where you want to go and the more you’ll get done. Also, the harder you work, the more you push and the braver you are, the more you’ll begin to make your own luck – and more doors will open for you.

Having a positive attitude is absolutely essential if you want to become successful in life. But you can learn how to develop the right attitude, and it also really helps to surround and associate yourself with people who have a positive attitude as well.

We have to continually remind ourselves again and again to trust in our kids because they are smart and are able to work things out for themselves. We should tell them they are good and that they must trust their own judgement – having a sense of ‘self’ and the confidence to ‘listen’ to it is really important when they are young.
